Dieterich Spahn (Cologne, 1938 – Minneapolis, 2021) was a German-born American artist. From 1961 until his death he designed architectural glass in Minnesota — stained glass, mosaic, and etched and painted float glass — for churches, chapels, schools, hospitals and libraries across the United States. Alongside the commissions he painted, in oil and watercolor, for most of his life.
This site is the public part of an archive his family is building of everything he made. It begins with the glass and paintings his studio’s own website presented between 2012 and 2018, and it will grow as the record does.
